PROJECT STATEMENT
Syria... The Garbage is a source of food for Idlib children
As soon as dawn announces its shining from the womb of the darkness of the night, a group
of children lower their bags and carry them on their backs to the landfills. To start their
difficult day in pursuit of livelihoods and livelihood amid piles of waste near the town of Qah
on the Syrian-Turkish border, children wander in search of cartons and plastic items that
they can sell in order to contribute to securing their livelihoods, who are living in difficult
humanitarian conditions after their families were killed in War With the arrival of each new
bus laden with rubbish, children at the site rushed to rummage through the bags, unaware
of the cloud of dust emanating from the unloaded goods. . These bags contain food scraps,
metal "cans" plastic containers, cleaning supplies, cardboard, nylon, and more. Children of
all ages work in waste collection, starting at the age of 7 and ending at the age of 16. They
search daily in landfills and containers for unwanted wire, plastic, nylon and copper, which
can be used by incineration for the purpose of heating, or sold for the purpose of recycling,
without concern for the health damage it may cause
